Floristry Level 3 City of Bristol College

This part-time, one-year course will enhance your existing floristry skills so you can work more creatively and expertly in your current role or to develop your career, either with an employer or in your own business.

Who is this course for?

This course is for adults aged 19 and over, who want to expand their floristry skills and progress beyond a Level 2 Floristry qualification.

What you'll learn

As a skilled flourish you will be able to identify and arrange flowers and plants beautifully through creative design and effective construction to suit a wide range of occasions, events and clients. Building on your existing knowledge and skills you will learn more about the creative design process, investigating sources for design inspiration, and you will learn about floral decoration for functions and events and for weddings and formal occasions.

Course entry requirements

To join this course, you have to have complete a Level 2 Certificate or Diploma in Floristry and achieved a Merit grade or above. You also need English Language GCSE at grade 3 (D) or above or English Functional Skills at Level 1 or above and you need basic ICT skills in order to complete research and assignment tasks.

How is the course delivered and assessed?

On this part-time course, you will attend college on day a week during term time for the academy year from October to the end of May. You will be taught by experienced florists in our modern floristry workshop, through a mix of demonstrations, presentations and practical activities.

As a skilled florist, you will be able to identify and arrange flowers and plants beautifully through creative design and effective construction to suit a wide range of occasions, events and clients. Additional costs

You must supply your own materials and equipment for the year, including fresh flowers and foliage (approximately £450), floristry scissors/secateurs (approximately £30), uniform/apron and writing materials and folders.

To keep everyone safe, we’ve reduced the number of people in our buildings at one time. Most of our courses include sessions taught at the college supported by online learning.
