Furniture Making Level 2 City of Bristol CollegeThis course gives you the knowledge and skills to enable you to achieve a recognised Furniture Making trade qualification which could lead to employment or an apprenticeship.
You will learn the foundations in this basic craft introduction to the Furniture Making industry with attendance two full days each week for a period of 35 weeks.

Who is this course for?
This course is designed for people aged 19+ who have a keen interest to learn knowledge and skills to start a career in Furniture Making.
What you'll learn
This is mainly a practical-based course that develops making, polishing and machining skills alongside the associated theory.
Course entry requirements
To join the course you need to have achieved a Level 1 Diploma in Furniture Making.
You will also need an initial assessment in Maths and English at Level 1 (E) or to have achieved three GCSEs at Grade 3 (D) and above including Maths and English.
How is the course delivered and assessed?
You will be assessed in a number of different ways and receive regular feedback in reviews to guide your progress. Some of the ways in which your success will be measured are:
- Attendance
- Exams
- Online assessments
- Practical assessments
- Portfolio work
Future career and study opportunities
On successful completion of the course you may be able to progress to the Level 3 Diploma Furniture Making. You could also apply for an Apprenticeship in the Furniture Making industry.
Additional costs
As a City of Bristol College student, you may incur additional costs to attend your course. For example, it is likely you may need to pay for travel and stationary.
You will need your own protective footwear for practical sessions. You may also need ear defenders, protective goggles and gloves for some tasks. We offer some equipment which is free for you to use in College.
