Lead Adult Care Worker Level 3 Apprenticeship City of Bristol College

Work within the sector while gaining further knowledge of health and social care.

Through this 15-to-18-month apprenticeship, you can gain career-boosting qualifications while working in a senior Health and Social Care role. You may be employed as a Lead Adult Care Worker, Healthcare Assistant, Support Worker or Personal Assistant.

You will need to be employed in a relevant role to start this Level 3 apprenticeship. You need to find your own employer as part of your application for an apprenticeship; you can search apprenticeship vacancies on gov.uk.

If GCSE Grade 4-5 is not achieved, Functional Skills Level 2 will be required. 

Health and Social Care students aged 18 and over who wish to undertake a placement in any CQC registered setting are encouraged to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Who is this course for?

This apprenticeship is for people working within a care environment with a senior role.

What you'll learn

This course will equip you with the skills and knowledge to enable you to use different management styles in a Care environment and to enable you to practically apply these in the workplace.

You will complete a series of modules towards your Level 3 Diploma which you will gain a qualification.

The qualification provides knowledge and skills for workers who have roles and responsibilities for the delivery of care and support.

Course entry requirements

  • English and Maths GCSE at Grade 4 (C) or above
  • Be working within a company already in a Senior Health and Social care role or working towards this role for a minimum of 30 hours per week
  • If GCSE Grade 4-5 is not achieved, Functional Skills Level 2 will be required

How is the course delivered and assessed?

You will learn through a mainly work-based route. Your Diploma will be delivered within your workplace where you may attend workshops with your college assessor.

At the end of your apprenticeship, you will complete an endpoint assessment which consists of a knowledge examination (situational judgment multiple-choice test) and a professional discussion with an external assessor to gain your apprenticeship certificate

You will need to complete 15 standards of the care certificate and 20% off-the-job training.
