This Level 2 Technical Award in Health and Social Care is a one-year, full-time course. It will teach you about working the health and social care sector.
The course will give you key health and social care knowledge and skills.
This course is for school leavers aged 16-18.
Who is it for?
This course is for young people aged 16-18 who are working towards a career in health and social care.
What you'll learn
This course will give you knowledge and understanding of the skills required to work within the health and social care sector.
You will cover topics such as:
- working within the health and social care sector
- human growth and development
- professional practice.
The programme is a great foundation to progress to the next level of health and social care study.
To join this course, you need four GCSEs, including English language and maths at grade 3 (D) or Functional Skills at Level 2 in English and maths.
How is the course delivered and assessed?
You will learn through full-time, classroom-based learning.
There are a mixture of ongoing assessments, three written assignments and an exam.
To gain your Level 2 Health and Social Care qualification, you must achieve a minimum of a Pass grade in all assessments.
Future career and study opportunities
After successfully completing this course, you can continue to study and progress to the Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care.

Many courses offer learning opportunities that you may need to pay for. This may include things like study visits and visiting speakers. We will let you know in advance if there will be additional costs.
