Who is this course for?

This course is for adults aged 19 and over who are already working in first line management roles. This course provides them with the opportunity to evaluate and develop their management knowledge and skills. They can then use this knowledge to help them proceed to the next level of management in the workplace and/or higher level automotive or management qualifications.

What you'll learn

Through this six-week course you will complete online tests for each module. A management role covers a broad range of work activities in a variety of contexts, most of which are complex and non-routine. Managers play an integral role in supporting organisational objectives through a range of functions including planning, allocating and monitoring the work of a team, managing conflict, project management, agreeing budgets and managing customer service. This qualification also provides a broad overview of the workplace, especially in areas such as organisational structures, departmental relationships, health and safety and legal frameworks.

Course entry requirements

To join this course, you will need to be working in the lower tier of management, have a Level 3 Motor Vehicle qualification, have GCSEs at grade 4 (C) in English and maths and a Level 2 or above ICT qualification.

How is the course delivered and assessed?

This course is delivered in the classroom with support to complete the expected assignments to meet the level 4 criteria set by the IMI. There is an expectation that you will do extensive research in your own time. There is also a number of Online tests to complete.

Future career and study opportunities

This qualification provides individuals with the knowledge and understanding to progress to higher levels of management and/or Level 5 automotive or management qualifications.
