This course is for anyone who wishes to learn more advanced techniques in how to set up and use detailed databases.
The tailored module which can be studied flexibly to fit around your working week, will enable you to learn substantial skills and provide efficient office support within the workplace.
This unit can contribute to a full Level 1 qualification in Information Technology.
Who is this course for?
Designed specifically for those wishing to improve their IT skills in the workplace and study advanced techniques in how to set up and use detailed databases.
It is advised to pick a time that you can attend each week regularly as this has proved the most effective with past learners.
The IT Centre opening times are:
- Monday 9:00 – 16:30
- Tuesday 12:30 – 20:00
- Wednesday 9:00 – 16:30
- Thursday 09:00 – 16:30
- Friday 09:00 – 12:00
What you'll learn
This unit enables you to use the skills that you have learnt in one of the applications (Word, Excel or Powerpoint) and apply them to a scenario as you would in the workplace.

The Latest Adobe Creative Cloud Applications, including Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, After Effects, Premier, Dreamweaver, Animate and many many more. You will also have access to Adobe Online and use of Adobes online platforms and cloud storage space for all your work and resources. This would normally cost you £15 per month but is absolutely free as part of your course.
Course entry requirements
You do not need any formal qualifications but will need to have a good command of written English to be able to follow the content and assessment materials.
How is the course delivered and assessed?
Modules are assessed in a variety of ways including written assignments and module tests.
Future career and study opportunities
Next steps could include progression to another Level 2 chosen subject unit or a full ECDL qualification at Level 1 or 2.
