NCFE CACHE Level 2 Technical Occupational Entry for the Early Years Practitioner (Diploma) City of Bristol CollegeThe aim of this qualification is to provide learners with the knowledge, understanding, and practical skills required to support babies and young children from birth to 7 years of age, with a focus on applied knowledge within the early years sector for children aged 0–5 years.
The qualification content meets the Department for Education’s (DfE) Level 2 full and relevant criteria for a Level 2 Early Years Practitioner in the workforce.
Learners must hold a GCSE English Language qualification at Grade 4/C or above (or an equivalent qualification) to meet the entry requirements for this course.
During the duration of the course, learners will undertake a placement in an Early Years setting, developing their employment skills, practical experience, and knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Learners will be required to complete 250 hours of placement.
Before starting the placement, learners will need to provide suitable identification and proof of address (such as a birth certificate, passport, driving licence, and evidence of home address) to complete the required DBS check.

Who is this course for?
This qualification is ideal for learners who are 16-18 and are looking to work with children between birth and 5 years and gain knowledge of working with children up to 7 years.
Learners do not need to have previous experience or qualifications in working with children to undertake this qualification.

Course entry requirements
4 GCSEs grade 3 or above (including Maths, English and preferably Science).
How is the course delivered and assessed?
All units will be internally assessed using a range of methods.
Knowledge-based outcomes can be assessed through assignments set out by tutors.
Skills-based outcomes must be achieved with reference to a real work environment and must include direct observation within the workplace.
A mandatory placement of 200-250 hours with direct observations.
Future career and study opportunities
Working in a Nursery as a Level 2 Practitioner, a Level 3 Early Years Apprenticeship or a T Level in Early Years and Education.
