NCFE Diploma in Sport and Fitness City of Bristol CollegeThis Diploma in Sports, Exercise and Fitness will give you the skills and knowledge to start a career in Sport. You will cover sports injuries, strength and conditioning, development of personal fitness through training, how to use a gym safely and introduction to sports massage.

This course costs £362. If you are aged 16-18 and looking to study full time; you will not pay any tuition fees. If you are aged 19 or over, you may also be eligible to study for free. Please contact us to discuss your options or visit our Financial Support page.

Who is this course for?
This course is for young people aged 16-18. If you are passionate about staying fit and healthy, and you can see yourself in a career where you help others develop their health and skills.
What you'll learn
You will develop an excellent understanding of how to build and maintain health and fitness through exercise and a healthy lifestyle. You will learn how the body operates and understand the benefits of a balanced diet. You will learn how to plan and instruct fitness sessions in the gym and group exercise sessions, for a range of clients and a variety of exercises.
Course entry requirements
You will need a GCSE Grade 3 in Maths, English and Science as a minimum.
How is the course delivered and assessed?
You will complete written assignments, presentations and practical observations to build your portfolio evidence.
Future career and study opportunities
You could progress on to one of our higher-level courses to extend your skills and career prospects in the fields of outdoor activities or public services. Alternatively, moving on the our Gym instructor award if working in the gym is your passion.
Additional costs
You will need to buy a uniform/gym wear, gym membership, and contribute to the costs of educational trips. This will be approximately £280 for the year. If you are on a limited income, you may be eligible to receive help with these costs from our Learner Support Funding Bursary.
