Operational or Departmental Manager Level 5 Apprenticehip City of Bristol CollegeAn Operations or departmental manager is someone who manages teams and/or projects, and achieves operational or departmental goals and objectives, as part of the delivery of the organisation’s strategy.
They are accountable to a more senior manager or business owner. Working in the private, public or third sector and in all sizes of organisation, specific responsibilities and job titles will vary, but the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed will be the same. Key responsibilities may include creating and delivering operational plans, managing projects, leading and managing teams, managing change, financial and resource management, talent management, coaching and mentoring. Roles may include: Operations manager, Regional manager, Divisional manager, Department manager and Specialist managers.

Who is this course for?
This apprenticeship is perfect for someone who is working within a company either already in a management/team leading role or working towards this role and wants to learn through a mainly work-based route.
What you'll learn
This course will equip you with the skills and knowledge of different management styles to enable you to practically apply these in the workplace.
You will use the knowledge from your class delivered diploma and demonstrate to your mentor, and end point assessor how these skills are put into practice in your workplace.
Course entry requirements
Individual employers will determine their own entry requirements, but the typical entry requirements for this Apprenticeship will be five GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths, English and a Science; or a Level 2/3/4 Apprenticeship.
The duration of the apprenticeship is determined by a number of different factors such as experience and prior learning. The minimum time of an apprenticeship is 12 months with the maximum being identified on an individual basis.
How is the course delivered and assessed?
This apprenticeship is delivered face-to-face in the workplace.
