This course costs £1285. If you are aged 16-18 and looking to study full time; you will not pay any tuition fees. If you are aged 19 or over, you may also be eligible to study for free. Please contact us to discuss your options or visit our Financial Support page.

Who is this course for?
This course for 16 -18 year olds who want to develop more technical skills and knowledge required to work in a plumbing craft. It could provide a stepping stone into an apprenticeship or work placement towards achieving a Level 2 NVQ.
What you'll learn
You will extend your basic craft knowledge and skills developed at Level 1 during this course to include: domestic hot and cold water systems, sanitation and drainage, electrical and science principles, heating systems, communication, detailed calculation of quantities and safe working practices.
You may also be required to study Maths and English as part of your course if you have progressed from Level 1.
Course entry requirements
You can progress to this course from our Level 1 Certificate in Plumbing. Alternately you may apply if you have achieved GCSE Grades 4 (C) or above in Maths, English and Science.
How is the course delivered and assessed?
This is a full-time course. Alongside your College tutorials, you will be required to take part in work experience and self-directed study.
You will be assessed in a number of different ways and receive regular feedback in reviews to guide your progress. Some of the ways in which your success will be measured are attendance, exams, online assessments, practical assessments and a portfolio of work.
Future career and study opportunities
On successful completion of the course you may be able to progress to a Level 3 Diploma in Plumbing. You could also apply for an apprenticeship within the plumbing industry.
Additional costs
As a City of Bristol College student, you may incur additional costs to attend your course. For example, it is likely you may need to pay for travel and stationary.
You will need your own protective footwear for practical sessions. You will also need to buy a workwear uniform. You may need a high visibility vest, protective goggles and gloves for some tasks. We offer some equipment which is free for you to use in College.
If you are on a limited income, you may be able to receive help from our Learner Support Funding Bursary.
