Studio Photography City of Bristol College

Learn professional studio lighting in our portrait and still life studio photography evening course in our fully equipped studios.

The portrait side of the course covers professional lighting techniques such as low and high-key lighting styles, classic Rembrandt lighting, Short and Broad lighting, Butterfly and Loop lighting.

The still-life side of the course covers lighting techniques suitable for product photography, food photography and creative still-life photography.

You will explore:
– Studio portrait and still life lighting techniques
– Using Bowens studio flash effectively
– Soft boxes, Snoots, Grids and Reflectors
– Metering for flash and flash-triggering
– Photoshop editing techniques

Students will need their own DSLR camera to complete this course.

This adult photography evening course is for adults who would like to learn about studio photography. This might include students who need to use studio photography as part of their work.

Some adult learners may want to use this course to produce a portfolio of work required to apply for our HNC Photography course.
