Create, perform and produce across two vibrant sites: College Green and Bristol Beacon in the city centre. Your studio recording, practice and production sessions run at Bristol Beacon’s dedicated education suite (recording studio, practice rooms, Mac room and creative cubicles), while collaboration, theory and project work run at College Green. Studying in this transformed, world-class venue places you inside Bristol’s live music culture and a hub renowned for accessibility, acoustic excellence and major programming.

Who is this course for?
Aspiring performers and producers who learn best by doing and want a strong, practical foundation in music creation and studio craft.
What you'll learn
Performance and rehearsal technique, recording and mixing, composition and critical listening, music industry practice, contextual research, and a collaborative final project. You’ll also explore how AI-assisted tools and sustainable workflows can enhance creative output and responsible production.
Course entry requirements
4 x GCSEs at 3 or above including maths and/or English or equivalent or a Level 1 qualification in a relevant subject.
How is the course delivered and assessed?
Workshops, rehearsals, studio sessions and shows across both sites. Assessment is portfolio-based throughout, including a Final Major Project.
All assessments are through coursework – there are no exams.
Future career and study opportunities
Progress to the UAL Level 3 Diploma/Extended Diploma, creative apprenticeships, or entry-level roles across performance, festival production, Music, live sound, and content creation.
Additional costs
We provide basic art and digital resources, but additional materials may need to be purchased individually, including your own instrument if needed. The Learner Support Fund is available to help students from low-income households to help potential costs.
