Level up your artistry across College Green and Bristol Beacon. You will develop advanced musicianship and production in industry-standard spaces at the Beacon (recording studio, practice rooms, editing suites) and build collaborative projects, theory and pre/post-production at College Green. The Beacon’s 2023 transformation created a central, future-facing hub for performance and music education — connecting your studies to Bristol’s thriving scene.

Who is this course for?
Committed musicians, producers and creators aiming for higher education or industry. You should be comfortable reading music for this course.
What you'll learn
Advanced composition and arranging, specialist performance and production in context, professional practice and industry insight, contextual studies, and major collaborative/independent projects across the two years. You will also integrate AI-enhanced ideation, sound design and workflow efficiency, alongside sustainable approaches to recording and live production
Course entry requirements
Five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including either English or Maths
How is the course delivered and assessed?
Workshops, rehearsals, masterclasses and extensive studio time across both sites, with frequent use of Bristol Beacon’s recording and education facilities.
Assessment is 100% coursework/portfolio; units are internally assessed and externally moderated in final projects — no written exams.
Future career and study opportunities
Creative apprenticeships, or entry-level roles in performance, festival production, music, live sound and content creation.
Additional costs
We provide basic art and digital resources, but you may need to purchase additional materials individually, including your own instrument if required. The Learner Support Fund is available to help students from low-income households with these costs.
