For example, you will learn about government policies, citizenship, and the values, standards and behaviour expected of those working in public service. This includes, for example, consideration for other, the value of collaboration and teamwork, and the importance of personal discipline, motivation and pride in your work.<\/p>\n<p>You will also have plenty of opportunities, through activities and volunteering, to develop the practical skills and attributes you need for a career in the public services. For example, you will learn skills for outdoor activities on land and water, including expedition skills, and you will develop your understanding of leadership and team work and associated skills such as decision making and communications. You will have gained either English and\/or Maths at GCSE 4 or above, or Level 2 Functional skills in English and\/or Maths.<\/p>\n<p>We will invite you to a course information meeting event where you will receive information, advice and guidance about the course you have applied for. This will be an opportunity for you to gain valuable information about the course and give you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.<\/p>\n<p>You will provide a copy of your last school report and \/ or a reference from an employer or relevant professional other this will include attendance. This is to ensure we can support to be able to achieve well on the course. This would enable you to progress to a university-level Uniformed\/Public Services course.<\/p>\n<p>You could seek employment in one of the many public services after completing the Diploma or the Extended Diploma. For example, the Army, the Royal Navy or the Royal Air Force, the Police, the Ambulance Service and Paramedics, coastguard and Fire and Rescue Services.
