City of Bristol College excited to launch new website

We are excited to launch our new website developed in partnership with Bluestone360, an award-winning digital and brand marketing agency and reveal the fresh and simplistic interface designed with the user at the heart. The new website is responsive to screens of all sizes and filled with brand new, up-to-date content, images and data, creating an improved user experience.

Here are just a few of the functions you will spot on the new site:

User-friendly navigation: We took extra care to see what our page visitors wanted so we could make sure getting around the website is simple.

Course search functionality: Planning for your future has never been easier with our new search tool. Find the course which is right for you and work towards your dream career or learn a new skill to better your existing path. The much-improved interface allows potential students to not only search by the course name, but also their interests or dream job. With fun colour-coding and up-to-date course data, you can find out the must-know information about each course to make an informed decision about your future.

Responsive new design: No new website is complete without a new makeover. Sharp images, colour schemes and an attractive appearance means this website works on multiple screen options, enabling dynamic browsing on the go or at a desk.

Fast page load time: Say goodbye to the flipping sand timer and spinning wheel, with instant loading pages and quick-opening tabs, you will find your desired course in no time and be working your way through your application process before you know it.

Director of Marketing, Communications and Customer Services at City of Bristol College, Jana Smidkova said: “We know that developing a new website is not simply about giving it a new look, but understanding our visitor needs. Through this development we did not only achieve a fresh, clean design and the alignment of functionalities with the current digital landscape, we also focused on creating customer-centric user experience to aid the quality of decision making in relation to career and personal development, for individuals and employers.

“Our recent Ofsted inspection commended us on ensuring that ‘students and apprentices receive useful information, advice and guidance which is tailored to their needs’. The high quality of our advice and guidance is also endorsed by the matrix standard. We made sure that our careers and progression strategy and the focus on developing informed and ambitious career-related choices were clearly embedded in the new website.”

Bluestone’s Digital Account Manager, Katie Parcell said: “We have thoroughly enjoyed working with the team over the last 12 months. They have been working with us collaboratively through every stage of the website design and build and we are delighted with the result. Integrating all the new functionality will be invaluable to the user experience. We are really looking forward to receiving feedback from all students and seeing how the website performs.”
