As part of its commitment to Equality and Diversity and, following on from activities to mark International Women’s Day, City of Bristol College has signed up to the Bristol Women in Business Charter.
The Charter recognises and supports organisations who align with, and who aspire to, achieve gender equality and inclusivity for all women in business.
Joanne Ward, Chief of Staff and Clerk to the Corporation, City of Bristol College, commented:
“City of Bristol College is committed to ensuring fair treatment of all our staff. We’re keen to build on existing activities which support and promote gender equality. The College is a member of Bristol Women’s Commission and, signing up to the Women in Business Charter, will enable us to promote our work in this area, to receive support as we continue to roll out activities and to benefit from the best practice and advice the other signatories can offer.”
Jane Ginnever, Director, Bristol Women in Business CIC, commented:
“We are delighted to welcome City of Bristol College as a signatory to the Bristol Women in Business Charter. As a large local employer, it’s great to read of the College’s aims and ambitions on gender equality. We look forward to recognising and supporting their progress in this area. They join a growing community of progressive organisations of all sizes who share their ideas, learning, challenges and successes in this important area. Through sharing and supporting each other in this way, signatories of the Charter are accelerating their progress towards the creation of a more equal Bristol.”
