Fresh and dynamic work at Photography Graduation Show

Taking place at Centrespace Gallery from Friday 15 to Thursday 21 June 2018, ‘Slide’, is the Graduation Show of FdA Professional Photography students from City of Bristol College.

The show presents the culmination of the photography students’ two years of study and hard work before progression to Plymouth University, UWE Bristol or freelance photographic practice.

The work on show ranges from refined, sophisticated, studio shooting, abstract monochrome architectural forms, engaged street portraits and urban storytelling. It explores the lives and experiences of the under-represented.

The course draws upon Bristol’s photographic culture, publishing professionals and industry mentors in addition to offering academic support and challenges.

Becky Goddard, course leader said, “Each year, the feel is radically different from the last; this year portraits have featured strongly in the students’ work.

“The confidence of the students has increased hugely over the time they have been with us, due in part to the fantastic experiences that our professional partners offer them.”

Award winning portrait photographer Richard Ansett, documentary photographer Kirsty MacKay, photographic artist Jocelyn Allen and producer Alex Acin are just a few of the visiting professionals who work with the photographers while they’ve been on the course.

The students’ works will be for sale throughout the exhibition and they are also available for commissioned work; the photographers will be invigilating the show so come and find out more about their work and the course.
