Motor Vehicle students at our South Bristol Skills Academy enjoyed an interesting visit from Adrian Sims, Managing Director at Vent Tech.
Adrian spoke passionately about health and safety in the workplace, sharing his knowledge and experience in ventilation requirements and explained the health hazards of incorrect ventilation.
The students saw a demonstration of how substances can be easily inhaled and the health problems this can lead to, as well as learning about the legal obligations on employers to keep their workforce safe. They also had plenty of opportunities to ask Adrian questions about his day-to-day job, the changes happening in the industry and how ventilation such as the methods pioneered by Vent Tech will affect their future careers.
Adrian’s visit was just one in the many guest speakers we invite to share their experiences with our students. Employer visits are incredibly beneficial for introducing students to potential job roles and career paths once they complete their courses, and for introducing them to local employers who they may want to work for.
