National Apprenticeship Week sweeps City of Bristol College and solidifies importance of apprenticeships in the region

Taking place 10 – 16 February 2025, National Apprenticeship Week is an annual week-long celebration that champions every aspect of apprenticeships.

The week unites everyone who is passionate about apprenticeships and skills and invites them to celebrate the value, benefits and opportunities that they bring.

For those who may not be entirely familiar with what an apprenticeship entails; it is a combination of employment and training, offering individuals the opportunity to earn while they learn. It typically involves both on-the-job training, where apprentices gain practical experience and off-the-job training, which focuses on developing additional skills and knowledge through structured activities.

The benefits of employing an apprentice are ubiquitous and plentiful. Apprentices are a cost-effective way to upskill a team and bring in fresh talent. They are an investment in the future workforce with industry-recognised training and will also boost your corporate social responsibility.

In recent weeks, LinkedIn reported on the 10 fastest-growing roles in Bristol, unveiling their annual list; a data-backed ranking of the 10 fastest-growing jobs over the past three years in the local area.

The ranking highlights sectors that are experiencing sustainable local growth in the ever-changing job market. The methodology of the list is focused solely on activity at the city level rather than the national scale.

Amongst the list were a multitude of job roles that are covered by the strong apprenticeship offering of City of Bristol College.
