City of Bristol College’s employer division, Partners in Bristol (PiB), has teamed up with SkillsNet to offer a wide range of inspirational online courses to help people further their learning from the comfort of their own home.
With more than 50 courses to choose from, you can study a range of topics including Mental Health Awareness, Understanding Autism and the Principles of Digital Skills, at little or no cost to you.
PiB not only offers a great way to develop your skills but also the best tutors who are there to support you throughout your course.
The online portal will support people to learn new skills and gain a recognised qualification for future employment opportunities.
PiB has been working closely with employees who have been signed off on furlough, or have been made redundant as a result of the outbreak, to help develop additional skills during this time.
Director of Quality & Operations, Rob Hazelton, said: “This can be a difficult time for anyone, but for those who are uncertain about their future employment, this can be a very trying and nervous time. We at PiB and City of Bristol College want to be able to help those who have found themselves not working by the recent events and to encourage people to follow their aspirations using our new online learning portal.”
One student who is looking forward to starting her new online course is Kasia Arnold, who is ‘very excited’ to start her Level 2 certificate in Understanding Nutrition and Health. Kasia hopes the course will help her develop her career in the health, sports and fitness industry. She said: “With the lockdown, I wanted to take the opportunity and do something which will benefit me in the long-run and my future career. Since signing up to the course, I have been able to e-meet my tutors and start my learning now.
“The support I have received is brilliant so far and I look forward to working with my tutor to complete my course and progress in my chosen field.”
