Staff and student awards return to South Bristol Skills Academy in joyous ceremony

30 June was a special day at City of Bristol College as our staff and student awards returned to South Bristol Skills Academy after two years of remote ceremonies.

Colleagues from all Centres gathered in the airy Winter Gardens to celebrate the achievements of everyone at the College over the past year, at the event kindly sponsored by our partners Latcham, Mindful Education, Vistry, Reach, Bristol City of Sanctuary, Klosterhaus and Sustainable Fashion Week.

Staff awards including the Rising Star Award, the Staff Recognition Award for Excellence and the Staff Recognition Award for Supporting Colleagues aimed to recognise those colleagues who go above and beyond to make our College a great place to work.

Following the staff awards, students and proud families and friends joined us for the next ceremony. Awards including Apprentice of the Year, Contribution to College Life and the Effort and Determination Award recognise students aged 16-18 and aged 19+ who have shown outstanding commitment to their learning and to the College.

A regular feature of these awards is the Lee Sheriton Award for Endeavour, honouring a much-loved colleague who passed away in December 2018. This award recognises a student who has worked incredibly hard and overcome significant challenges to achieve and is a prestigious addition to our awards line-up.
