A Message from the Principal and Chief Executive Officer, Julia Gray

At City of Bristol College, we deliver transformative education in inclusive and dynamic learning environments and for our employees, this is no different. I am delighted that you are thinking of joining our college community. Having achieved Ofsted ‘Good’ we are on a journey towards excellence and as part of this, recognition of employees is top priority.
One of our key strategic aims is our unrelenting focus on our ‘people first’ culture, ensuring colleagues feel valued, empowered, and recognised for their individual contributions and expertise whether that be in a teaching capacity or a professional services team. We have four main sites across the city with state-of-the-art facilities. Further future investment in our estates is now allowing us to provide the best possible outcomes for our students and local communities, delivered by our fantastic community of colleagues.
All colleagues within the College contribute to the success of our students and we actively work to eliminate any barriers to both work and learning environments, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to thrive. Recognition is so vitally important in our working lives and everyone is recognised for their contributions.
Everyone is actively encouraged to work innovatively and we champion hybrid working where possible, along with the ‘Right to Disconnect’ to ensure wellbeing and work life balance. Colleagues at all sites have access to welfare rooms to use during the working day.
We have more amazing benefits on offer that include:
- Two-week paid Christmas close down and additional paid time off over Easter on top of a generous holiday entitlement of up to 35 days (plus 8 bank holidays)
- Hybrid Working
- Paid Volunteering leave
- Family friendly policies including paid fertility policy
- A menopause policy outlining support available
- Our very own Management Academy and Aspiring Leader programme focused on continuous professional development
- A person-centred annual appraisal focusing on wellbeing and CPD
- Access to a benefits portal including shopping discounts and cycle to work scheme plus lots more!
So after reading this, if you are interested in joining our College community, please contact the HR team if you have any queries or apply online. I look forward to meeting all new members of the team at one of our half termly New Starter Welcome Events.
