Extended Temporary College Site Closure – Ongoing Extreme Temperatures
Due to ongoing extreme temperatures, City of Bristol College has taken the decision to extend the temporary closure of College Green, SBSA and Ashley Down centres until the morning of Monday 29 June.
Parkway/AEC will remain open to accommodate End Point Assessments and provide a safeguarding hub for students who require it in emergencies. This centre has spaces with air conditioning and maintains a cooler temperature and will close at 16:30.
What this means for you:
- College Green, SBSA and Ashley Down will remain closed until the morning of Monday 29 June.
- Parkway/AEC will remain open for End Point Assessments and any Safeguarding needs.
Please note that the decision to temporarily close all college sites has not been made lightly. The Red Alert has been issued due to forecast temperatures that pose a significant risk to health and wellbeing, as well as major travel disruption. As ever, student and colleague safety is our main priority.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation and apologise for any disruption.
If you require any additional support, our Safeguarding and Additional Learning Support teams will remain contactable and available throughout the closure period (with the Safeguarding team) being available in person at Parkway/AEC.
