Working With Us

Procurement is the college’s link to its supply chain, connecting our teams with suppliers that offer good value, deliver reliable services and share our commitment to making a positive difference.

By working together, we can support our students, the college and our local communities while reducing our environmental impact.

Find Contract Opportunities

We buy a wide range of goods, services and works. The following are some examples:

  • Building Services (such as electrical, plumbing, minor construction)
  • Construction Professional Services
  • IT hardware, software and services
  • Student Travel Management
  • Print Management
  • Uniforms

We often use established procurement frameworks, including Crescent Purchasing Consortia, SUPC, or Government Commercial Agency.  Where no suitable framework is available, we invite tenders or obtain quotes directly.

We also work with local and national procurement groups and, where appropriate, use shared contracts arranged with other public sector organisations. Where we can, we will co-operate with other buying organisations to ‘pool’ our purchasing abilities.

What Suppliers Need to Know

We use MultiQuote to issue tenders. Registration is free and allows us to contact existing and prospective suppliers quickly about relevant opportunities. Where required, opportunities are also advertised on Find a Tender.

Our standard terms and conditions of purchase are available here. We normally trade on these terms and pay valid invoices within 30 days of receipt.

Invoices must include a valid college purchase order number and be emailed to our Purchase Ledger team. Missing information or sending an invoice elsewhere may delay payment, so please check the details before submitting it.

Our Policies and Expectations

We expect suppliers to comply with our policies and procedures, particularly those relating to safeguarding, health and safety, and sustainability.

General guidance on selling to the public sector is available on GOV.UK.

For more information about how public procurement rules affect the advertising and award of some contracts, see the Government’s guidance for suppliers.

If you need help registering on MultiQuote or have a question about an opportunity, please email the Procurement team at procurement@cityofbristol.ac.uk.
