Information for school leavers (16-18 year olds)

All new applicants for a full-time course starting this September will be guaranteed a place at City of Bristol College.* Applicants are being asked to accept or decline their offer online.

Due to the uncertainty of knowing when the college will be able to re-open again, we may need to contact applicants by phone, text or email to arrange for online or telephone assessment of their calculated grades and prior attainment, to establish their suitability for the course they have applied for, and to ensure that they are joining our college at the right level of study. This process may also involve a short English and/or maths assessment; if so, we will guide them through it every step of the way.

*If they are a High Needs Learner or have an EHCP, their application will be reviewed by our ALS team. This is so we can ensure we meet the applicant’s support needs and outcomes.

Information for adults (aged 19+)

After you’ve applied, we’ll be in touch with details about your next steps.

We may need to contact you to check your suitability for the course you’ve applied for. This could include:

  • an online or telephone assessment
  • a short English and/or maths assessment
  • requesting evidence of your previous qualifications.

We will guide you through every step of the way.

Information for higher education applicants

Due to college centres currently being closed, you’ll be made an offer based on:

  • an interview (this is likely to be a telephone interview)
  • email contact
  • a small assignment (for certain courses).

Some courses will offer face-to-face interviews when college centres re-open.

To prevent disappointment, if you have been offered a place through UCAS, you need to accept it as soon as possible.

Find out more on our dedicated webpage: How to apply for higher education and university-level courses.

Apply offline

While the college is closed, you will need to scan the form and email it to admissions.team@cityofbristol.ac.uk.
