Who is this course for?
If you are interested in hair and beauty, this course is an ideal stepping stone towards achieving your ambition.
What you’ll learn
During this vocational course, you will:
- Introduction to the Hair and Beauty sector
- Health and Safety in the Salon
- Learn basic hair techniques
- Learn basic manicure skills and basic facial routine
- How will I develop my English and Maths skills?
If you’ve already achieved an entry-level Functional Skills qualification, you will progress to the next entry level or to Level 1 Functional Skills if you’ve already achieved Entry Level 3.
If you don’t have any English or Maths qualifications, you will be individually assessed and placed at the best level for you to succeed. You can also book into Study Plus if you need extra support.
Entry requirements
We will invite you to a course information meeting event where you will receive information, advice and guidance about the course you have applied for. This will be an opportunity for you to gain valuable information about the course and give you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have. You will provide a copy of your last school report / provider or a reference from an employer or relevant professional other. This is to ensure that we can support you to be able to achieve well on the course. Don’t have any formal qualifications? As a City of Bristol College student, you may incur additional costs to attend your course. For example, it is likely you may need to pay for travel and stationery. If you are on a limited income, you may be able to receive help from our Learner Support Funding Bursary.
