Who is this course for?

This course is perfect for anyone who:

  • New to beauty therapy
  • Enjoys practical, creative work
  • Wants to build confidence in a salon-style setting

What you'll learn

With in this course you will learn the the basic theory and practical knowledge of the following:

  • Basic skincare techniques including cleansing, toning, and moisturising
  • Introduction to makeup application and creating natural looks
  • Hand and nail care, including basic manicures
  • Health, safety, and hygiene standards used in professional salons
  • Customer service skills to help you communicate confidently with clients
  • Professional presentation and workplace expectations

Course entry requirements

3 x GCSEs at grades 2 including Maths and English, or previous vocational qualification.

Note: If you don’t have any formal qualifications, don’t worry, simply let us know and we can assess you to ensure that you will be able to achieve well on the course.

We will invite you to a course information meeting event where you will receive information, advice and guidance about the course you have applied for. This will be an opportunity for you to gain valuable information about the course and give you the opportunity to tour our excellent facilities and ask any questions you may have.

How is the course delivered and assessed?

This course is taught through a mix of classroom learning, tutorials, practical activities, visits, tasks and work experience.

You will be assessed in a variety of ways to give you the best opportunity to demonstrate your skills throughout the year, including through exams and practical activities.

Maths and English will be assessed through tests and exams, but you will be fully prepared by your supportive teachers.

Future career and study opportunities

Further to completion of the Level 1 Beauty Therapy Certificate you may have the opportunity to progress to our Level 2 Beauty Therapy programme and any other relatable course within the college.

Additional costs

There will be an additional cost at the start of the year to cover any enrichment activities and uniform. This will be communicated to you through a course information session that you will be invited to once you have made an application.
