The Bench Joinery Level 2 course is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the principles and techniques involved in bench joinery. This intermediate-level course is suitable for individuals who have some existing knowledge or experience in joinery and wish to further develop their skills in this specialised field.

Throughout the course, students will learn how to interpret technical drawings, select appropriate materials and safely operate a range of tools and machinery used in bench joinery. The curriculum covers a wide range of topics, including the construction of basic and complex joints, the assembly of various woodworking components and the installation of doors, windows, and staircases.

Students will also gain practical experience in using different types of hand and power tools, as well as understanding the importance of accuracy, precision and quality in bench joinery work. Additionally, the course emphasises health and safety practices, ensuring that students are equipped with the knowledge and skills to maintain a safe working environment throughout their joinery projects.

By the end of the City and Guilds Bench Joinery Level 2 course, students will have acquired the necessary skills and knowledge to work independently.

They will be able to confidently interpret technical specifications, select appropriate materials, and utilise a range of joinery techniques to produce high-quality finished products. This course serves as a solid foundation for individuals aspiring to pursue a career in joinery.
