This course is for intermediate AutoCAD users who want to develop their skills and become more efficient at 2D drafting and technical drawing.

It is suitable if you have previous experience using AutoCAD 2D, either through industry experience or by completing our CAD: AutoCAD 2D Essentials course.

You will develop your ability to create and edit 2D CAD drawings efficiently using key AutoCAD features and techniques, including:

  • Layers
  • Text and dimension styles
  • Creating and editing attributed blocks
  • Paperspace
  • Dynamic inputs and grips
  • Renaming and purging drawing elements

You should have previous experience using CAD in 2D, either through industry experience or by completing our CAD: AutoCAD 2D Essentials course.

You will also need a working knowledge of English and Maths and be confident using Windows-based computers.

You will need to attend an entry interview before enrolling on the course. Interviews are available in person or by telephone.

On successful completion, you will have developed the skills and knowledge needed to use AutoCAD effectively and efficiently for 2D CAD work across a range of industries and office environments.

You can also progress to other CAD courses, such as Revit, Inventor or SolidWorks.

There are no required additional costs beyond the course fee. Please contact us for information about the current course fee.

As part of your enrolment, you will be entitled to download a free educational copy of AutoCAD from Autodesk. You will need access to a suitable computer to use the software at home, although you can use the College's CAD computers if you prefer.

If you would like to use a Mac, please contact us for further information about compatibility and requirements.
