IRTEC is a renewable accreditation scheme that assesses the safety, knowledge and competence of technicians who maintain and repair commercial vehicles.

The accreditation is available at five career levels, reflecting different job roles and levels of experience. Successful candidates receive an IRTEC licence, valid for five years, along with a licence card and certificate, and are added to the IRTEC Technicians Directory.

Licence holders also agree to abide by the IRTEC Code of Conduct and are eligible to apply for a free Halfords Trade Card.
