Find out more about our A Level pathways and how to apply

This course is suitable for complete beginners or for anyone with previous experience who would like to expand their knowledge of the key principles of interior design.

During this course, you'll explore the principles of interior design, including colour, pattern and texture, alongside a brief history of British interiors from the 18th to the 20th century.

Working to a client brief, you'll learn how to develop and present a complete room scheme, producing presentation boards, scale plans and layouts, while selecting suitable finishes, furnishings and fittings.

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.

After completing this course, you can progress to a range of creative courses, including CAD design courses, to further develop your design skills and learn how to produce digital interior design concepts.

There are no compulsory additional costs for this course. However, you may wish to purchase magazines and other materials for inspiration, and we recommend bringing a sketchbook to develop and record your ideas.

How to apply?

Your admissions journey will follow a number of straightforward steps and will likely follow a similar format to the steps outlined on our ‘How to Apply‘ page.

For 16-18 courses, places will be offered for a specific course of study at City of Bristol College, subject to the applicant meeting all course entry criteria.
