Step out of the working day and into the studio to build real drawing confidence.

Develop your drawing confidence through structured life drawing sessions in a relaxed but focused after-work studio environment. Working from the human figure, you will build skills in observation, proportion, line, tone and composition. This course is designed to help adults slow down, look carefully and draw with growing confidence, whether you are completely new to life drawing or returning after time away.

This course is for adults aged 19+ who want to improve their drawing skills, reconnect with creative practice or enjoy dedicated studio time after work. It is suitable for beginners as well as those with some experience who want to refresh and strengthen their observational drawing.

You will learn how to observe and draw from a live model, exploring proportion, gesture, structure, light, tone, mark-making and composition. You will work with a range of approaches and develop confidence in drawing the figure from short and longer poses.

No formal qualifications are required for this course.

No previous life drawing experience is needed. A willingness to experiment and practise is encouraged.

This course can support progression to our HNC/HND provision, including HNC/D Film and TV, Graphic Design and Photography. It can also support wider art and design study, portfolio development, independent creative practice or continued participation in drawing-based courses and workshops.

Learners may need to bring or purchase basic drawing materials. Any essential requirements will be shared before the course starts.

How to apply?
