Spanish Beginners

Whether you’d like to communicate more confidently when travelling or develop Spanish language skills from scratch, this 12-week course (two hours per week, in college) is an ideal starting point.

It’s suitable for complete beginners or those with only a little prior experience.

This course is not recommended if you have studied Spanish for more than a few weeks.

You’ll learn to understand and use simple phrases and questions in Spanish, and to exchange information in everyday situations.

Learning takes place in small groups or pairs, using a range of enjoyable and interactive methods. Homework will give you the chance to study independently, supported by recommended online resources.

The course focuses on speaking, listening, reading and writing, covering topics such as:

• ordering drinks and snacks

• getting to know people

• talking about yourself and your family

• asking for and understanding directions

To join this course, all you need is an interest in the Spanish language and plenty of enthusiasm and motivation.

Fees are £253

This is a full cost recovery course which means there is no funding available, payment will be due in full upon enrolment.

You will be assessed through informal assessment by yourself and your tutor during the course.

After successfully completing the Beginners Spanish course, you will be able to progress to the Beginners Plus Spanish course.

You will need to buy the course book (costing approximately £20).
