Spanish Beginners City of Bristol College

This two-hour-a-week, 12-week programme will get you speaking Spanish. If you want to have fun and make friends while learning a language, this is the course for you.

You will learn in a relaxed environment with other adults aged 19 and over. You will learn to introduce yourself, order the right drink, ask the way and buy what you need.

Who is this course for?

Do you want to feel more confident speaking on holiday or perhaps you need to improve your Spanish language skills for work. This 12-week (2 hours per week in College) course is for complete beginners or beginners who may have taken a very short introductory course. This is not suitable if you have already studied Spanish for more than a few weeks.

What you'll learn

You will learn to understand and use simple phrases and questions in Spanish and to exchange information in familiar situations. You will work in small groups or in pairs with a variety of enjoyable learning methods and resources. Homework will be set to offer an opportunity for independent study backed up with online resources. There will be a focus on speaking, listening, reading and writing covering topics such as buying drinks and snacks, booking a hotel room and telling people about yourself.

Course entry requirements

To join this course all you need is an interest in the Spanish language and bags of enthusiasm and motivation.

We will invite you to a course information meeting event where you will receive information, advice, and guidance about the course you have applied for. This will be an opportunity for you to gain valuable information about the course and give you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

You will provide a copy of your last school report and / or a reference from an employer or relevant professional other. This is to ensure we can support you to be able to achieve well on the course.
