Spanish Foundation City of Bristol College

Want to enjoy your holiday to the full? Need to use better Spanish in your job? Then this two-hour-a-week, 12-week programme is for you.

You will study with other adults aged 19 and over. Learn to describe people, talk about your daily routine, cope at the doctors and politely make a complaint.

Who is this course for?

This 12-week (2 hours per week in College) course is tailored for people who may have spent a year learning Spanish already. Please note this course is not suitable if you are a complete beginner.

What you'll learn

You will learn to use and understand a limited range of simple words, sentences and questions to take part in short conversations in familiar situations Learners will works in small groups or in pairs using a variety of enjoyable learning methods and resources. Homework will be set to offer an opportunity for independent study backed up by online resources.

Course entry requirements

We will invite you to a course information meeting event where you will receive information, advice and guidance about the course you have applied for. This will be an opportunity for you to gain valuable information about the course and give you the opportunity to tour our excellent facilities and ask any questions you may have.

You will be asked to provide a copy of your last school report and/or a reference from an employer or relevant professional other. This is to ensure we can support you to be able to achieve well on the course.

You need 3 GCSEs at Grade 1 to Grade 3, including Maths and English, or a previous vocational qualification.

Some Level 1 qualifications in trade-based subjects may require a slightly higher entry requirement based on the specific content of the course.

To join the course you must have studied Spanish for at least a year, or be able to express yourself and cope in everyday situations without having formally studied any Spanish. You must also have an interest in the language and bags of enthusiasm and motivation.

You will be assessed through informal assessment by yourself and your tutor during the course.
