Spanish Intermediate City of Bristol CollegeDuring this two-hour-a-week, 12-week programme you will develop your Spanish skills and confidence to communicate in everyday situations.
You will also learn more about the grammar of the Spanish language and some cultural aspects, both orally and in writing.
The course will consolidate your skills by looking at topic areas in depth and covering the use of language.
This course is for adults aged 19+.

Who is this course for?
This 12-week (2 hours per week in College) course is is for people who wants to build on their existing pre-intermediate skills in Spanish and who may have spent at least two and a half years learning Spanish.
It is not suitable if you are a complete beginner or only have basic Spanish language skills.
This course is for adults aged 19+.
What you'll learn
There will be a focus on topics such as:
- giving accounts of personal daily activities, home and social life
- talking about future plans
- giving simple accounts of an anecdote or important event of life that have happened in the past using the Preterite tense
- describing relevant memories and changes in life by using the Imperfect tense
- using the Imperatives in order to give instructions, orders or making direct requests.
Homework will be set to offer an opportunity for independent study, backed up with online resources on Moodle.
Course entry requirements
4 GCSEs at Grade 3 or above including Maths and/or English or a Level 1 Diploma in a relevant subject plus GCSEs in Maths and/or English, or a Functional Skills qualification in Maths and/or English.
We will invite you to a Course information meeting event where you will receive information, advice, and guidance about the course you have applied for. This will be an opportunity for you to gain valuable information about the course and give you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
You will provide a copy of your last school report and/or a reference from an employer or relevant professional other. This is to ensure we can support you to be able to achieve well on the course.
Some Level 2 Technical qualifications may require a slightly higher entry requirement based on the specific content of the course. This may include having English or Maths at a Grade 4

To join the course you will need to have completed our Spanish Pre-Intermediate course, or to have studied Spanish for at least two and a half years, or to be able to express yourself and cope in everyday situations.
You will also need to have an interest in the language and bags of enthusiasm and motivation.
How is the course delivered and assessed?
You will be assessed via informal oral, reading and written assessment.

After successfully completing the Intermediate Spanish course, you will be able progress to the Intermediate Plus Spanish course.
