Unreal Engine Fundamentals City of Bristol CollegeThis short course is introduction for anyone interested in building a game in Unreal Engine, this course covers the core principles and workflows that underpin modern game development. Focusing on building a simple level prototype and introducing blueprint scripting, it guides learners from basic scene setup to a playable environment.
The course will be running from 15/06/2026 – 03/07/2026 and 5.5 hour per day, twice per week (Monday and Friday) for 3 weeks.

Who is this course for?
This course is ideal for those interested in developing skills in Unreal Engine.
Prior experience with 3D tools or basic scripting is useful but not essential.
Enthusiasm to learn and explore Unreal’s ecosystem is the main focus of this course.
What you'll learn
- Navigate Unreal Engine interface and workflows
- Create and texture 3D environments using lighting, materials, and other game assets.
- Construct simple level logic with blueprint scripting Import custom assets and set up character controls
- Integrate basic sound design and UI elements for player feedback
- Build and package a standalone project or standalone level demo
- Optimise scenes for publishing.Â
