Director of Apprenticeships and Employer-Based Training
Denise has over 20 years’ experience of working in the FE industry both in college and private training providers. She joined the college in April 2018, initially on an interim basis, and is accountable for the implementation of a curriculum and improvement strategy for apprenticeships and employer-based training; chiefly delivered through work-based and workplace assessment and learning, but also through college-based FE and HE provision.
Contributing to the delivery of the curriculum and improvement strategy which focuses on raising aspirations through flexible learning and progression pathways into higher learning and work, supporting the college’s mission. She provides operational leadership and management on curriculum matters for apprenticeships and employer-based learning and training including the development of excellence in teaching, learning and assessment. She also has responsibility for the business partnership and enterprise team.
Prior to joining the college Denise was a consultant who worked closely with private training providers and colleges at senior level to provide a comprehensive service to support Apprenticeships, Work Place Learning, Employability and Community Education providing leadership and management to create sustainable business, mitigate risk, drive up quality and benefit providers.
