A Note To Students
Even if you’ve been unable to attend lessons throughout the academic year, it’s still important for you to sit your GCSE exams. You may well surprise yourself with the knowledge that you have.
Even if you don’t necessarily feel ready, sitting the exam is still good practice and will actually give you an advantage to prepare for the moment when you are feeling ready to give it your best shot.
We all know that you can block your future progression for your career or halt your chances of enrolling in further education if you don’t secure a GCSE qualification. Gaining English and Maths qualifications supports progression to your next steps, improves employment opportunities, and brings the prospect of earning higher salaries in the future.
If you’re struggling to believe in yourself, just know that you are not alone and many of us experience self-doubt, but as Theodore Roosevelt said: “Believe you can and you’re halfway there”. Don’t just take our word for it, take it from these prominent figures..
As Maya Angelou said: “Nothing will work unless you do.” As Pablo Picasso said: “Action is the foundational key to all success.” And one of the most apt quotes from Robert Kiyosaki: “Don’t let the fear of losing be greater than the excitement of winning.”
As a college, we will:
- Offer exam preparation/revision sessions
- Offer all learners a free breakfast on the day of their exam
- Offer activities that will support any student who may experience anxiety
- Call home to remind you that you have an exam
- Send SMS and email messages to remind you that you have an exam
- Support students with transport where necessary
