Under 16s

Courses for 14-16 year olds

Full time students of statutory school age (early college)

The curriculum offer is aimed at 14-16 year olds who have, for whatever reason, been unsuccessful in mainstream education but are considered able to infill with post 16-18 year old students onto an Entry/Level 1 or Level 2 vocational course. These students remain on the school/ALP roll and the place is funded by the school/ALP.

As part of the offer the students must attend and take an appropriate functional skills qualification in English and maths. All students have a personal tutor, an experienced Student Advisor and a Transition & Progression Mentor to support the student’s progress and to ensure regular communication occurs between the referrer and the parents/carers.

Students are expected to attend the referring establishment alongside the college placement.

College will consult on all early college applicants to ensure we can meet the young person’s needs, and create an individualised costed provision map.
