Under 16s

Courses for 14-16 year olds

Full time students of statutory school age (early college)

The curriculum offer is aimed at 14-16 year olds who have for a variety of reasons been unsuccessful in mainstream education but are considered mature enough to infill with post 16-18 year old students onto an Entry/Level 1 or Level 2 vocational course. These students remain on the school/ALP roll and the place is funded by the school/ALP.

As part of the offer the students must attend and take an appropriate functional skills qualification in English and maths. All students have a personal tutor and the early college team provide experienced student advisers to support the student’s progress and to ensure regular communication occurs between the referrer and the parents/carers.

Students are expected to attend the referring establishment alongside the college placement.

If a student has an Education, Health and Care (EHC) plan the college will consult on this to ensure we can meet the students’ needs and a costed provision programme will be created.
