Fee information about adult classes that have been affected by the coronavirus outbreak
We recognise the importance of lifelong learning and professional development. During the period of the college closure arising from the coronavirus outbreak, we have worked hard to ensure that wherever possible, our courses continue and are delivered via online learning channels.
We are contacting all students who were due to start their learning after Easter or have started a course shortly before Easter, to update them about the status of their course. We understand that some students may be concerned about their fees and or eligibility for a refund, as a result of alterations to their mode of study or start date. We hope that the information below will help clarify this:
Q: My course has not yet started, it will start as planned but teaching and learning will take place online.
A: If you do not wish to take up an alternative option of online delivery, you can have a full refund.
Q: My course has many practical components which cannot be delivered online. Therefore, the course has been postponed until the college reopens again.
A: If your course has not started yet, you will be entitled to a full refund, in line with normal fees policy. This approach may be slightly different for courses which have already started and students are nearing the completion of their studies.
Q: My course has already started and it will continue, but the mode of delivery is being switched to online teaching and learning.
A: Because substitute learning has been put in place, no refunds will be honoured. However, the Assistant Director of Finance will consider exceptional or extenuating circumstances on a case-by-case basis.
Direct debit collections and instalments
Direct debit collections and instalments will be put on hold until we can establish the situation regarding individual courses. This will ensure we are not making collections on cancelled courses and putting financial hardship onto students. Once we have confirmed which courses are continuing via online learning we will notify students of the date that direct debit collections will resume.
Students who have paid previous direct debits for cancelled courses will be given a full refund.
