Business Skills Level 1 Award City of Bristol CollegeThis 15-week vocational course will introduce you to the business sector. You will complete a Level 1 BTEC Introductory Award qualification and develop your employability skills.
You will complete two units: ‘Developing a Personal Progression Plan’ and ‘Finding out about a business in your area’. You will also learn about topics such as marketing and branding, organisational skills, specific vocabulary for the industry and more!
This course is offered at our Ashley Down Centre on Thursdays from 9:30 – 15:00.

Who is this course for?
If you’re an adult who is interested in business, this course is a stepping stone towards working in the sector.
What you'll learn
During this vocational course, you will:
– Complete a series of assignments relating to different types of business
– Learn about marketing and branding of a product
– Learn how to organise yourself and develop a Personal Progression Plan
– Develop your employability skills
Course entry requirements
We will invite you to a course information meeting event where you will receive information, advice and guidance about the course you have applied for and you will take an assessment to show that you are working with at least Entry level 3 ESOL or English.
How is the course delivered and assessed?
This is a 15-week, part-time course. You will be expected to attend for one day a week.
During this course, you will be assessed in a variety of different ways to give you the best opportunity to demonstrate your skills.
Future career and study opportunities
After completing this course, you could progress onto a higher level course, an apprenticeship or employment.
