CAA/EASA Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Level 4/5 Part 66 City of Bristol College

This is a two-year, full-time course in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering.

It will prepare you for a career in the aviation industry.

You will work towards an internationally-recognised qualification, a Category B1.1 License / EASA Part-147/66B1.1 licence. 

This course will consist of theoretical and practical training, followed by a requirement to gain employment in an Aircraft Maintenance Organisation to work towards the Basic training Certificate. This will comprise of a total of 2,400 hours (including the continuing maintenance experience) and require at least 90% attendance.

Who is this course for?

This course is for people interested in a high-flying career in the Civil Aviation Industry. The EASA course offers the opportunity for students to work on live aircraft at an Aircraft Maintenance Organisation either in the UK or overseas.

What you'll learn

The students will study all 13 modules required in order to achieve their B1.1 license.

This course includes practical training, utilising our maintenance aircraft in the state-of-the-art hangar as well as our sheet metal and engine workshops.

In order to fulfil the requirements of the Basic Training Course, you will need to secure employment in a Part 145 Aircraft Maintenance Organisation after the course has finished. You will also be issued with a tablet to store all of the student notes.  

Course entry requirements

To join this course, you need A level Maths grade 4 (C) or above. A level Science/Physics grade 4 (C) or above and A Level English 3 (D) or above or 5 GCSEs at grade 9 to 5. 

Previous experience in engineering may be considered on an individual basis. 

How is the course delivered and assessed?

You will learn from our experienced and supportive teachers and be assessed through Exams (Multiple Choice) – Pass Mark 75%, Exam Essay – Pass Mark 75% and practical assignments.
