This course costs £362. If you are aged 16-18 and looking to study full time; you will not pay any tuition fees. If you are aged 19 or over, you may also be eligible to study for free. Please contact us to discuss your options or visit our Financial Support page.

Who is this course for?
The course is designed for 16 -18 year olds who have a keen interest to learn the essential knowledge and skills required to start a career in plumbing.
What you'll learn
You will learn work-ready skills including fixing water pipes, making minor repairs in a house and costing repair jobs. Throughout the course, you will complete a Level 1 Certificate in Plumbing.
Course entry requirements
To join the course you must have two GCSEs Grade 3 including Maths and English. Alternatively, you can apply if you have Level 1 in Maths and English Functional Skills.
How is the course delivered and assessed?
This is a full-time course. Alongside your College tutorials, you will be required to take part in work experience and self-directed study. You will also attend sessions to develop your employability and personal skills.
You will be assessed in a variety of ways to give you the best opportunity to demonstrate your skills throughout the year.
Future career and study opportunities
On successful completion of the course you may be able to progress to the Level 2 Diploma in Plumbing course. You could also apply for an apprenticeship in the plumbing industry or further your career working within the construction industry.
Additional costs
As a City of Bristol College student, you may incur additional costs to attend your course. For example, it is likely you may need to pay for travel and stationary.
You will need your own protective footwear for practical sessions. You will also need to buy a workwear uniform. You may need a high visibility vest, protective goggles and gloves for some tasks. We offer some equipment which is free for you to use in College.
If you are on a limited income, you may be able to receive help from our Learner Support Funding Bursary.
