We offer a programme of short courses at a range of levels tailored to your needs. Courses run at different levels on different days throughout the year. The day of your course will depend on your starting level and when you join the course.

Who is this course for?
This course is suitable for people of working age who want to learn computing skills. Whether you are an absolute beginner or you know the basics and want to improve your skills, there is a course for you.
What you'll learn
The level you study at will be determined by an initial assessment which you will complete before joining a course.
Entry Level 1 is for absolute beginners. You will learn basic skills including:
- using a mouse
- basic keyboard skills
- creating, saving and printing documents
- formatting text to look good on the page
- using emails
- finding your way around the internet
- being safe online
Entry Level 2 will build on your existing computer skills. Skills you will learn include:
- saving information and finding it again
- working with images
- creating a PowerPoint presentation
- more advanced email skills
- shopping online
- understanding the system settings on your device
Entry Level 3 will build on your existing knowledge and skills. Skills you will learn include:
- solving simple technical problems
- finding images and information on the internet and using it in documents and presentations
- completing online forms and verification checks
- installing, setting up and using different kinds of public and private online communications
- creating a positive digital footprint
- understanding and minimising online risks
Course entry requirements
We will invite you to a course information meeting event where you will receive information, advice, and guidance about the course you have applied for.
Applicants must be working at Entry Level 2 ESOL or English and attend an initial assessment

How is the course delivered and assessed?
You will learn in a friendly and supportive classroom environment.
You will have plenty of time to practice your IT skills during the course.
At Entry 1 and Entry 2, you will agree targets with the teacher which you will complete by the end of the course. The Entry 3 course is formally assessed through exams.

Successful completion of these courses will open the door to a wide variety of other courses and work opportunities.
