Our International English courses are for international students and working people (such as au pairs) who have come to England to improve their English.
Studying International English can help you to find a better job, progress in your career or to study at a UK university.
There are a variety of morning and evening courses of 12 or 16 weeks duration to suit your needs. These consist of either 2.5 hours or 5 hours taught classes per week. Depending on the route you chose, you will work towards a College Certificate or prepare for a Cambridge exam. We offer exam preparation for the Cambridge PET, FCE, CAE and CPE exams as well as the IELTS exam.

What you'll learn

- Make use of free access to International English online resources (Moodle)
Course entry requirements
You do not need any formal qualifications to join one of our International English for Adults courses. However, you will need to have an initial assessment to establish your level of English.
After you complete the initial assessment, you will talk with a member of our International English for Adults team to determine which course will help you achieve your potential.
How is the course delivered and assessed?
You will be taught by our specialist teaching team throughout the duration of your studies. Your teacher will set homework after each class in order for you to progress at your own level.
General English courses are held two days per week in the morning and start twice a year in September and January for Elementary, Pre-Intermediate and Mid to Upper Intermediate levels. A college certificate is issued at the end of the course and there is also the option take the Cambridge PET exam for Pre-Intermediate and First Certificate for Upper Intermediate students.
Cambridge exam courses (PET, FCE, CAE, CPE) run twice a year (Sept and Jan, mornings and evenings). We offer discounted Cambridge exam prices when you take your exam at College.

Future career and study opportunities
Students who pass can progress to other International English and vocational courses in the College. Your tutor will support and help you make your next decision.
Cambridge exam costs are not included in the course fee. You will need to pay extra if you wish to sit a Cambridge exam.
Your course book and online study materials are included in the course fee. All students also receive a College student card giving you discounts across the city.
