Course overview
irtec (Inspection Technician) City of Bristol CollegeThis short course is for vehicle technicians in the HGV and Trailer sectors; it’s an assessment that can be delivered over 1 or 2 days (up to a maximum of 2 days) to suit each individual, your experience and what works best for you.
A nationally recognised licence, you will work towards gaining an irtec licence, or a re-accreditation (Re-accreditation is for candidates whose irtec licence is still in date).
This qualification demonstrates to employers in the road transport industry that an inspection technician, or a service maintenance technician has reached the required standard to undertake vehicle inspections and maintenance.
Employing irtec-qualified inspection technicians is best practice and protects OCRS scores.
