Kettlebells Pro City of Bristol College

This course will be delivered over a full day and is a mix of practical and theory, which will give you the knowledge and skills to design and teach a safe and effective kettlebell session.

The course will give you knowledge in various areas, including the benefits of kettlebells, safety considerations and how exercises can be used to help improve posture / prevent pain.

Who is this course for?

This course is for anyone who has a relevant Level 2 qualification and wishes to expand their skills, knowledge and services.

What you'll learn

  • The benefits of kettlebells
  • Planning and teaching a safe and effective kettlebell session for a variety of clients; both beginners and advanced
  • Correct technique and teaching cues
  • Safety considerations and appropriate kettlebell-related warm-up/cool-down
  • How kettlebell exercises help to improve posture/prevent pain
  • Understand how kettlebell exercises are: time efficient, help to build muscle, improve cardiovascular fitness, are very metabolically expensive, plus the advantages of compound movements

Course entry requirements

4 GCSEs at Grade 3 or above including Maths and/or English or a Level 1 Diploma in a relevant subject plus GCSEs in Maths and/or English, or a Functional Skills qualification in Maths and/or English.

We will invite you to a Course information meeting event where you will receive information, advice, and guidance about the course you have applied for. This will be an opportunity for you to gain valuable information about the course and give you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

You will provide a copy of your last school report and/or a reference from an employer or relevant professional other. This is to ensure we can support you to be able to achieve well on the course.

Some Level 2 Technical qualifications may require a slightly higher entry requirement based on the specific content of the course. This may include having English or Maths at a Grade 4

You must be over 16. You will need a current Level 2 Exercise to Music or Gym Instructor qualification (or equivalent).

How is the course delivered and assessed?

The course will be delivered via a mix of theory in the classroom and practical learning/assessing in the gym/studio.
