You will work in our modern working salons, to practice your skills in a realistic environment. You will develop the knowledge and skills you need for the next level of learning or employment. |

What you'll learn
This level 1 course will give you basic knowledge, skills and experience in beauty.
In this course, you will also learn:

- Communication Skills when working with clients
- Different aspects of beauty
- Introduction to the hair and beauty sector
- Presenting a professional image in a salon
- Skin care
- Basic Make-up application
- Nail art application
- Providing basic manicure treatment
- Providing basic Pedicure treatment
- Follow Health and safety in the salon
- Salon reception duties
- Working with others in the hair and beauty sector
Students are expected to have all treatments performed on them by other students.
Course entry requirements
| E3 Maths and English or Working towards a level 1 functional skills or Grade 2 GCSE Maths and English. |

You will need to buy the college uniform and a beauty therapy kit that costs approximately £200. If you are on a limited income you maybe eligible to receive help with these costs from our learner support funding bursary. |
