Who is this course for?

This course is for people who wish to learn the basics in Software Development. Upon completion students will be able to design and implement basic computer programmes.

What you'll learn

During this eight-week course you will learn to take the problem and translating it into design and how to implement the design in the Python programming language. During this course you will learn the basic structure of programming language, data structures and types as well as string and file handling.

Course entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements to join this course but applicants should be familiar with the use of personal computers. Learners are required to bring along a 2GB or larger USB memory stick to store their work on. Learners can also bring their own laptops to work from, although the required software is Windows only.

How is the course delivered and assessed?

This course will be assessed through producing a short program.
