Phased return to face-to-face learning at City of Bristol College

We hope you are looking forward to returning to college and we are looking forward to seeing you. We will make sure a safe environment is provided at all times to keep the whole college community safe.

You will be invited back to college on a phased basis starting from Monday 8 March, in line with government guidance. You will get information from your tutor about your exact return date and time. We ask that you follow the information provided, and only come into college when you are scheduled to do so. When you arrive on campus, you will get information about the rooms you should go to, and any changes that you need to be aware of. You will also get information about how and when you will have your lateral flow tests. We are working hard to ensure that your return is smooth and enjoyable. We will continue to keep our website updated with information and if you have not yet read through this we recommend that you do.

Arriving at college

When you arrive at the college, you will be directed to the right place by our team of staff. We know that you have not used your ID card for a while, but please bring this with you and have it on display at all times.

Lateral Flow Testing

When you return to college, you will have three lateral flow tests and these will take place around three to five days apart. It is not mandatory to have the tests, but we and the NHS highly encourage everyone to do so to keep each other safe. Before you have the test, you must complete a consent form. You will get a kit so you can do further tests at home. You will be provided with full information when you get your pack on how to do this.

The test takes around five minutes to complete. Results of the test will be sent to you by text or email and could take up to one hour after the test. There is a video about the lateral flow testing that you might find helpful.

What facilities will be open?

All Study Centres will be open, with the exception of College Green which will open after Easter. The Food Halls will be open at all centres for click and collect service.

Other information

Social distancing and other safety measures will remain in place. You should bring your own face covering and wear this when you are walking through the college. If you forget your face-covering, we will provide you with one.

We hope this information is useful.  If you have any questions, please visit the website first and if you cannot get the information you need you can contact us on 0117 312 5000, via the live web-chat, or via our contact form.

We look forward to seeing you soon.
